Masjid Muhyiddeen was opened on the 5th of Shawwal, Hijri 1299 (August 20, 1882). It is situated in Kuthuckal Street in Kayalpatnam, South India and is registered with the Tamil Nadu Wakf Board (G.S.No.527).

When the mosque was constructed nearly 130 years ago, it was built on an area of about 600 sq.feet - keeping the then population in consideration. Only about 100 people could be comfortably accommodated. Today, the population has grown - so has the number of people utilising the mosque; around 200-250 for prayers. With about 100 children coming to the mosque - in the morning and evening - to learn Quran, there is a huge shortage of space within the mosque.

In order to address this problem, it has been decided to utilise the barren land of around 15,750 sq.ft - that is part of the Masjid complex - and reconstruct the Masjid - as well as build additional facilities that would be beneficial to the people. Olive Educational and Charitable Trust - a registered, charitable trust - has been formed to undertake this.

:: PHASE 1 :: A new Masjid to accommodate 1000 people for prayers - in a total built-up area of 6084 sq.ft (Ground Floor - 3042 sq.ft and First Floor - 3042 sq.ft) - at an estimated cost of Rs.91.2 lakhs

:: PHASE 2 :: A library and research centre with a guest house - in a total built-up area of 2454 sq.ft (Ground Floor - 1227 sq.ft and First Floor - 1227 sq.ft). The facility will stock a host of religious and educational books in all spheres of life. This would be expanded into a major educational research centre. Library would be in the ground floor

:: PHASE 3 :: A convention hall - in a total built-up area of 13,536 sq.ft (Ground Floor - 6768 sq.ft and First Floor - 6768 sq.ft). The facility would be used to conduct religious and educational meetings for the upliftment of the community, marriage ceremonies for the poor free of charge, marriage ceremonies of middle income group people at nominal charge. The financial proceeds from this would be utilised for the development of the Masjid

The total estimate for our Masjid project is approximately Rs. 2.5 crores. We have proposed to proceed with this project in a phased manner. It has been decided to construct the Masjid in the first phase on priority. The construction of Library and Convention hall would be taken up in second and third phases respectively.

The total built up area of the Masjid works out to 6084 Sq.ft. At the rate of Rs. 1500/- per sq.ft, the cost of construction in the Masjid phase alone is Rs. 91.2 Lakhs.

We call upon the philanthrophists and the kind-hearted brothers / sisters to generously contribute towards this work of Allah's Home. You can contribute in blocks of 1 sq.ft. For example, you can contribute Rs.1500 ($ 30) for 1 sq.ft, Rs.3000 ($ 60) for 2 sq.ft etc.
